FIL Buenos Aires 2024
The main objective of Lisbon's presence at the Buenos Aires Book Fair in 2024 was to reinforce Lisbon's image as a literary city, a city of all writers and readers, a cosmopolitan city, open and with a strong international projection, giving visibility to contemporary Portuguese authors, creators and artists.
Organized by the el Libro Foundation - an entity dedicated to promoting books and reading since 1974 - the Buenos Aires Book Fair will pay homage to the city of Lisbon in 2024. The Buenos Aires Book Fair is one of the world's great literary fairs and the third largest in the region.
This fair is an essential cultural and publishing event in Latin America. In recent editions, it has attracted more than 1.3 million visitors and more than 12,000 book professionals.
between April 25 and May 12, 2024
Led by Lisbon City Council's Culture Department and coordinated by Rute Mendes, the project will be curated by Carla Quevedo for the literary program. The Fair will also be attended in collaboration with the municipal cultural services, as well as the city's cultural organizations.
