Financial Times considers Unicorn Factory one of the best programs in Europe
Since it was launched in 2022, it has attracted 54 new technology centers to Lisbon, which will create more than 10,000 highly qualified jobs in the capital. The Unicorn Factory has also made it possible to triple the number of technology companies incubated and is creating several specialized centers, some of which are already up and running, such as the Gaming Hub inaugurated in December.
"This is another great recognition of the work we're doing at the Unicorn Factory. After the European Capital of Innovation, this distinction is a sign that the project is gaining visibility around the world," says the Mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas.
The Financial Timesranking identifies the best acceleration and incubation programs in Europe, with the participation of more than 2,000 European entities that evaluated the winners. The evaluation criteria include: quality of training and mentoring; provision of physical space and offices; legal support provided; advice on business management and growth; networking opportunities and community building; access to funding.
Currently, Fábrica de Unicórnios has more than 220 startups and scaleups participating in its programs. The project is supported by 80 partners, including some of the world's largest technology companies, such as Google, Microsoft and Amazon Web Services.
