GIRA bikes arrive in Penha de França

With two stations for 30 docks, Penha de França is the 21st parish in Lisbon to receive shared bicycles. The stations are next to the Sapadores Market and in Largo Mendonça e Costa.

In addition to Penha de França, five more stations are opening: three in Belém, one in São Domingos de Benfica, and one in Carnide.

At the opening of the new stations in Penha de França, Carlos Moedas pointed out that GIRA is close to reaching 2,000 bicycles, leaving a commitment to be in all 24 parishes of the city by 2025.

The third station in Penha de França should be up and running by September, he added.

In the area of soft mobility, the mayor of Lisbon said that the municipal plan envisages an additional 90 km of cycle paths: from the current 173 km to 263 km.
