"Most desirable European city" is Lisbon's latest nomination

The capital is nominated for the 23rd edition of the "Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards 2024", which evaluates the most desired destinations, tour operators and travel brands of the year. The public vote runs until October 18th.

The distinction is awarded by "Wanderlust Travel Magazine", and took into account 20 categories: city, region, country, most desirable destination, culture and heritage, nature, adventure, gastronomy and sustainable experiences, among others, as well as awards for airlines, cruises and tour operators.

"Lisbon is a leading tourist destination and this nomination reinforces its position," said Paula Oliveira, from Turismo de Lisboa, adding that the capital has "a multifaceted offer, combining tradition with innovation, seeking to offer new experiences to those who visit us".

Voting is open to the public and runs until October 18. The winning city will be announced on November 6 at a ceremony at the Tate Modern museum in London.
