The 2026 Grand March is chosen

The song, which will be performed by the popular marches at the Lisbon Festivities, "portrays a cosmopolitan city, open to cultural diversity, tolerance and equality", references that fit in with this year's theme: Somos Lisboa. Somos Europa, which marks the 40th anniversary of Portugal's entry into the European Union.

The choice, according to EGEAC - Lisboa Cultura, was unanimous among the jury: "This was the most Lisbon Europe we've found," said the panel, made up of Marco Rodrigues, Ângelo Freire and Carlos Alberto Moniz.

Recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage, in 2025 Lisbon's Marchas Populares received over 1 million euros in support from the municipality.
