The first European edition of the Tribeca Festival will be held in Lisbon

On October 18 and 19, the Beato Innovation District will host the first edition of the Tribeca Festival in Europe. Carlos Moedas attended the presentation in New York with the festival's founders, Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal.

The Tribeca Festival was founded in New York in 2002 "in response to the attacks on the World Trade Center". Organized annually, the festival was created to promote the North American city "as an important center for film production and to help filmmakers reach the widest possible audience".

In the Portuguese capital - organized by Lisbon City Council, Grupo Impresa and SIC - the Tribeca Festival aims to establish itself as "a space for meeting and dialogue where art, cinema, culture and current topics intersect".

One of the central moments will be the panel discussion entitled "Laughter, Tears, and Healing: The Power of Comedy and Drama in Mental Health (and Storytelling)", with comedian Ricardo Araújo Pereira and actress Whoopi Goldberg.
