Vale de Santo António plan presented in public session

The second presentation session of the Santo António Valley Urbanization Plan (PUVSA), in an open forum format, took place on July 4, at Rua Henrique Barrilaro Ruas, in Penha de França. The public discussion period runs from July 3 to 30.


In accordance with the ongoing participatory process, the sessions involve residents "in order to guarantee open and plural participation" in the discussion about the changes to the PUVSA, in all its various aspects.

Joana Almeida, town planning councillor, presented the main measures of the redevelopment project, which is part of the "5 Valleys" and "Better City" programs: around 2,400 affordable homes, an elementary school and kindergarten, a nursery, a student residence, a retirement home and a day center, with the facilities occupying 44,000m2.

The green areas, he said, "total 11 hectares", in an urban park of significant size, connected to the existing urban networks, three km of cycling network, new roads, incorporating the concept of the 15-minute city into the territory.

On July 5, the Parish Centre of the Church of São Francisco de Assis in Penha de França will host the last of the three sessions planned for the participatory process of the Vale de Santo António Urbanization Plan.
