Lisbon-Maputo Literary Exchange 2026

Applications are open from February 1 to 28 for the selection of a Portuguese author for a literary residency in Maputo, Mozambique, which will run from October 1 to 31.

This artistic exchange program is the result of cooperation between Lisbon City Council and Instituto Camões I.P., through its Portuguese Cultural Centres, with a view to carrying out cultural projects within the scope of artistic residencies, in Lisbon and abroad, with the common goal of fostering the development of collaborative artistic projects between Portuguese and foreign creators.

The selected artist will be entitled to a grant of €750 (cash value) and international travel, supported by CML, and free accommodation in Maputo, provided by CCP Maputo.
