Contribute to community safety and your pet's well-being

Lisbon City Council informs that the 2025 Anti-Rabies Vaccination Campaign begins in May. This annual campaign is aimed exclusively at dogs and aims to strengthen public health protection and animal welfare, in accordance with the guidelines of the Directorate-General for Food and Veterinary (DGAV).

The vaccination sessions will take place at various concentrations, in the places, days and times indicated below or in the calendar available in the Annex. No prior booking is necessary.

  • Rabies vaccination is compulsory for all dogs over three months of age;
  • The campaign does not cover cats or ferrets;
  • All prophylaxis measures in force, as defined by the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), will be observed.

Electronic identification (microchip) is compulsory and, if the animal has not yet been identified, microchipping and registration with SIAC are offered at the time of rabies vaccination, for residents of the Municipality of Lisbon, from 10am to 12pm at the Lisbon Animal House

In addition to the deadlines listed below, rabies vaccination, microchip placement and SIAC registration can be done at the Casa dos Animais de Lisboa - Estrada da Pimenteira, every Tuesday, from May 14 to December 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., for the same fees as for the gatherings.
