MOCA - Archaeological Film Festival

1.ª edition

MOCA presents a selection of almost three dozen films and documentaries dedicated to archaeology, heritage and the relationship between the past and memory, with a variety of artistic and scientific approaches.

The program includes short, medium-length and feature-length films, as well as auteur works and more contemplative proposals about traces, heritages and narratives of the past.

The show proposes a broad reflection on contemporary production in this area, involving both the work of heritage researchers and professionals and the communities associated with the narratives presented.

Parallel program

In addition to the film screenings, the exhibition includes a program of complementary activities, including talks, workshops and a themed dinner.

  • The mornings are dedicated to young people and families, with workshops and film screenings that introduce archaeological practice and the role of images in the construction of knowledge.
  • The afternoons include round tables dedicated to themes such as heritage, archaeology and science communication.
