Andy Rector, an American curator living in Lisbon, proposes a program of six sessions over six weeks, every Wednesday.
Recovering the spirit of the old film clubs - meeting places where people went not only to watch, but also to think and talk about cinema - this program covers a wide time span, between 1914 and 2013, and will show films made in Los Angeles.
Experimentality emerges as the guiding thread, revealing how this Californian city has been a fertile ground for a cinematography that goes far beyond the best-known productions of Hollywood and its major studios.
The last session, "Hey Art, Art Wake Up, Man", will feature Sílvia das Fadas, filmmaker, researcher and curator.
