Ponchielli's Christmas Eve Mass
Also known as "Messa per la notte di natale", this masterpiece by Amilcare Ponchielli had its premiere on December 25, 1882.
This concert is an outstanding example of 19th century Italian sacred repertoire. With a five-voice choir, three soloists and a large orchestra, the work combines the elegance of the sacred tradition with Italian lyricism.
