"Places of April" mark historic moments

The last five plaques of the "Places of April" project were inaugurated on March 24, as part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Revolution.

The project began on the occasion of the celebrations for the 45th anniversary of April 25 and has a total of 25 plaques identifying various sites associated with the actions of the Armed Forces Movement on April 25, 1974. This is an initiative of the 25 de Abril Association, in partnership with Lisbon City Council.

A QR code has been placed on each plaque which, using a cell phone, allows you to obtain a description of the episode that took place at that location.

"This project is so important because it tells our story, there are 25 places that tell the story of what was the great change towards freedom in our country," said Carlos Moedas, president of Lisbon City Council, at the closing ceremony of the "Places of April" project, held in Largo do Carmo, the most symbolic of all the sites of the Revolution.

The entire "Places of April" itinerary can be consulted on the website of the 25 de Abril Association.
