2024 Bicycle Mobility Award values sustainable accessibility

As part of the European Mobility Week initiatives, the 15th edition of the national "Mobilidade em Bicicleta" 2024 award honored EMEL for improving the conditions for more sustainable mobility in Lisbon.

Created in 2006 by the Portuguese Federation of Cycle Tourists and Bicycle Users, the award recognizes "entities or individuals" that promote the use of bicycles as a sustainable means of transport in Portugal.

In this year's edition, EMEL - Empresa Municipal de Mobilidade e Estacionamento de Lisboa (Lisbon Municipal Mobility and Parking Company), was one of the winners, standing out for its role in improving conditions for more sustainable mobility in Lisbon.

At the awards ceremony in the Winter Garden - Quinta das Conchas, Carlos Moedas, Mayor of Lisbon, stressed the importance of safety for cyclists and motorists, and highlighted the "fundamental role of bicycles in the future of Lisbon".
