ARCO is back in Lisbon for its seventh edition
The seventh edition, presented on May 16 at Galeria Quadrum, aims to transform the Portuguese capital "into one of the most attractive artistic and cultural centers of interest in Europe, and a meeting point for collectors, gallery owners, artists and professionals from all over the world".
"Today, ARCO is also Lisbon," said Carlos Moedas, stressing that the fair "is in Lisbon to internationalize itself and in doing so is internationalizing" Lisbon. The fair "has become an anchor of the project for this European Capital of Culture and Innovation", he added.
Lisbon, the mayor recalled, "acquired dozens of works at last year's ARCO" and, in November, "we're going to inaugurate the Blue Pavilion", on Avenida da India, a "specific and permanent facility where the works we acquire every year at ARCOlisboa will be exhibited".
ARCO Lisboa is organized by IFEMA Madrid and Lisbon City Council, from 23 to 26 May at the Cordoaria Nacional. The general public will be able to visit the fair from Friday to Sunday. On Saturday 25th, from 3pm, admission is free for young people up to the age of 25.
