Eleven thousand plants add color to Marquês de Pombal

The winter planting will decorate the flowerbeds at the Marquês de Pombal traffic circle with 11,500 Viola Tricolor plants, known as Amor-perfeito or Erva-trindade.

Lisbon City Council's team of gardeners is already preparing the beds, tilling and leveling the soil for this season's planting.

These small, delicate flowers in a variety of colors: yellow, blue, purple, pink and white, are rustic plants, ideal for decorating flowerbeds during the winter, thanks to their high resistance to cold conditions.

The choice of Viola tricolor brings "color and life" to the flowerbeds of the Marquês de Pombal in the winter months, enhancing one of the city's most emblematic and visited spaces.
