Wonderland Lisboa animates Christmas in the city
The space, in the country's largest Christmas market, is designed to bring families, schools and visitors closer to sustainable habits during the festive season.
The program includes the Jogo da Gloria Sustentável, an interactive course with challenges about conscious choices. The Eco Market hosts 20 local artisans and projects on a rotating basis, highlighting reused materials and the circular economy. The Eco Workshops offer more than 50 free activities to create decorations and souvenirs with natural or reused materials.
Carlos Moedas, mayor of Lisbon, said that the event reflects the city's evolution and commitment to sustainability, stressing that "this Christmas market represents what we are as a community, uniting tradition, innovation and a special care for families". According to the mayor, Lisbon is seeking to reinforce an identity that combines modernity with inclusion, stressing that "Lisbon's Christmas being considered one of the best in Europe shows the strength of this partnership and the value we give to a city that cares".
Distinguished by the European Best Destinations with the Best Sunny Christmas Market award and nominated for Best Christmas Market in Europe, the event maintains the Ferris wheel overlooking Lisbon and the Tagus, the ecological ice rink, Santa's house, the giant tree and the crafts and gastronomy market.
