EuroPride kicks off in Lisbon with performances from the city's iconic clubs

Today Lisbon hosted the inaugural event of EuroPride 2025, which marks the start of nine days dedicated to celebrating diversity, human rights and LGBTI+ culture. The Capitólio, in Parque Mayer, was transformed into the EuroPride House and hosted performances by artists linked to the capital's historic clubs, such as Finalmente and Trumps, in a festive atmosphere that set the tone for the program that runs until June 22.

This is the first year that Portugal has hosted EuroPride, Europe's largest event celebrating the LGBTI+ community, which is spread across several emblematic points in the city. The agenda includes concerts, exhibitions, workshops, parties and an international human rights conference.

Among the musical highlights confirmed for June 19-21 at Terreiro do Paço are names like Melody, Rozalla, Corona, Aiko ft Kat and The Black Mamba. The "Portugal at Eurovision" show, with Manuela Bravo, Suzy and Nucha, aims to attract audiences with a musical journey through the Portuguese classics of the festival.

The Human Rights Conference will take place on June 19 and 20 at the São Jorge Cinema and the European Parliament in Lisbon, with the participation of experts from various countries. Among the topics up for debate are the mental health of minorities, disinformation, LGBTI+ rights in tourism and inclusive sport.

Other venues in the city such as Casa Jardim da Estrela, Palácio das Galveias and the Capitólio itself will host exhibitions, cultural and educational activities throughout the event.

On June 21, Avenida da Liberdade will host the March for LGBTI+ Rights, a demonstration that promises to mobilize thousands of people in an affirmation of "pride, resistance and solidarity".

Organized by Variações - Associação de Comércio e Turismo LGBTI+ de Portugal, with the support of Lisbon City Council and Turismo de Portugal, EuroPride 2025 claims to be an event with international visibility and impact: " EuroPride Lisbon 2025 is an event focused on defending the rights of LGBTI+ people, celebrating diversity and creating a safe, free and affirmative space for all the identities that make up our community," said the organizers.
