Guide to sustainable and climate-neutral events presented in Lisbon

On September 17, Lisbon City Council presented the Guide to sustainable and climate-neutral events at the São Luiz Theatre's Winter Garden.

The document, "a fundamental tool for meeting the city's sustainability objectives", is aimed at event promoters, partner entities and municipal services and aims to support the adoption of more sustainable practices in the organization of events in public spaces. It addresses areas such as energy, mobility, waste, food, inclusion, accessibility and governance, proposing levels of commitment, examples of good practice and monitoring indicators.

The guide marks the first phase of a process that envisages the creation of a Municipal Seal for sustainable and climate-neutral events, reinforcing Lisbon's role in promoting a fairer, more resilient and environmentally responsible development model.

This document is part of the city's commitment to the City Climate Contract 2030, which aims to achieve climate neutrality by the end of the decade, adapting Lisbon to extreme weather events and promoting a just and inclusive transition.
