International Anti-Corruption Day
Lisbon City Council has already trained more than 3,500 employees in the Code of Ethics and Conduct, said the mayor of Lisbon at this morning's session in the Archives Room of the Paços do Concelho.
The meeting focused on risk prevention, transparency and organizational responsibility, through a system of internal control, risk management and accountability, which supports employees in making responsible decisions and adopting upright behaviour.
Rose Gill, from Bloomberg Associates, emphasized the importance of strengthening prevention mechanisms and training teams. Cooperation with Lisbon, she said, aims to support the municipality in adopting and consolidating international standards of transparency and ethics in public management.
During the session, the instruments of the transparency and corruption prevention compliance program were presented, including the code of ethics and conduct, the plan to prevent risks of corruption and related infractions, the whistleblowing channel and the municipal training and communication plan. The current matrix of the risk and corruption prevention plan includes 32 risks and three categories, transversal to CML's organic units, which focus on corruption and related infractions, ethics and integrity, and critical management.
With this initiative, the municipality of Lisbon reiterates the importance of a culture of integrity as an essential pillar of organizational culture.
