Lisbon and Amadora host 19th edition of LEFFEST

From November 7 to 16, the Lisboa Film Festival will screen more than 140 films in six cinemas in Lisbon: Cinema São Jorge; Culturgest; Cinema Medeia Nimas; Cinema NOS Amoreiras; Teatro do Bairro and Galeria ZDB, in Lisbon, and in two cinemas in Amadora: Recreios da Amadora and Cineteatro Dom João V.

The opening session at Cinema São Jorge marked the official start of the festival with a tribute to the career of four names in independent cinema: Wagner Moura, Arturo Ripstein, Isabel Ruth and Hal Hartley.

In the 19th edition, the reflection on Exile is one of the highlighted sections, with 21 films dedicated to this cycle, along with debates and talks, "which will allow us to reflect on the complexity of this experience".

More than 140 titles, concerts, meetings and talks mark the 2025 edition, directed by Paulo Branco and with the institutional partnership of the municipality. Lisbon is once again asserting itself as an international stage for cinematographic and cultural dialog.
