Lisbon hosts Europe's largest geotechnical event

The event is presented as a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences in the field of geotechnical engineering, underlining the crucial role that the city of Lisbon intends to play in promoting urban safety and resilience.

One of the highlights of the conference will be the presentation of the ReSist Program, a municipal initiative that aims to increase the seismic resilience of Lisbon's building stock and urban infrastructures. ReSist is structured into 47 actions, with the aim of "making the city more resilient in the face of an earthquake". These actions include assessing the seismic vulnerability of buildings, carrying out structural reinforcement works and implementing safety standards for urban rehabilitation.
