Lisbon mourns the death of Fausto Bordalo Dias
Author of landmark Portuguese songs such as "O barco vai de saída", "Como um sonho acordado" or "A guerra é a guerra", Fausto has recorded 12 albums throughout his career.
Carlos Fausto Bordalo Gomes Dias was born on November 26, 1948, on board the ship Pátria, which was traveling to Angola, where he spent his childhood and adolescence and began to develop an interest in music.
He moved to Lisbon in 1968 to study for a degree in Sociopolitical Sciences at the former Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Política Ultramarina, now ISCSP - University of Lisbon.
In the 1960s, he joined his first musical group: "Os Rebeldes", and in 2011 released his last album of originals "Em Busca das montanhas azuis".
In 2019, in Terreiro do Paço, he took part in the concert commemorating April 25th, accompanied by his band and orchestra.
