Lisbon promotes responsible adoption at Pet Festival

Lisbon hosted another edition of the "biggest meeting between brands, families and animal lovers". The Pet Festival takes place from February 6 to 8, 2026, at FIL - Parque das Nações, with the support of Lisbon City Council.

Lisbon City Council supports the event and was represented on the opening day by the Councillor for Animal Protection, Maria Luisa Aldim. The municipality, through the Lisbon Animal House, is taking part in the festival with awareness-raising activities and games for children, promoting the responsible adoption of pets.

The 14th edition of the "biggest pet event in Portugal" features spaces dedicated to health and well-being; sport and fun; learning, responsibility and conscious interaction with animals; dogs; cats; farm animals; horses; fish; reptiles and insects; aesthetics and animal welfare; and the promotion of veterinary medicine and nutrition.

The Pet Festival, according to the organizers, welcomes around 25,000 visitors every year and 5,000 animals who take part in various activities. These are "days of conviviality and fraternization" between families and guardians, with dog shows, lectures and meetings about Portuguese breeds, among other initiatives.
