ModaLisboa strengthens links with industry and the community

The 65th edition of ModaLisboa has come to an end. From October 1st to 5th, in co-organization with the Lisbon City Council, the city once again hosted Portugal's biggest fashion event.

Centered on the Pátio da Galé, the program was spread out over several venues. Lisbon was the stage for designers and artists, for creators, businesspeople and technicians, "for consolidated talent and for the talent that is emerging and that finds its launch pad in ModaLisboa," says Carlos Moedas, the mayor of Lisbon.

For five days, the city "welcomed another season of collections by national designers ", with fashion shows, presentations, debates and conferences taking over venues such as MUDE-Museu do Design, Avenida da Liberdade, and the new Fashion House in Palacete Gomes Freire.

The Fashion House project was, in fact, one of the novelties of this edition of ModaLisboa. The pop-up store dedicated to national designers and labels was a space for sharing and "a statement about fashion as a collective practice and a cultural force in movement".

The motto "Base" marked Lisbon Fashion Week in October, reinforcing the link with the industry, the community and internationalization. "What interests us, as a project, is to reinforce the idea that fashion is a collective construction (...) It's from this base that everything starts," says the president of the ModaLisboa Association, Eduarda Abbondanza. "Any real possibility for the future," she adds, results from the combined will of professionals, the community and the curious.
