Municipality prepares Smart Lisbon Strategy 2030

The Estratégia Lisboa Inteligente 2030 - the result of a partnership between Lisbon City Council and Universidade Nova IMS (Information Management School) - aims to design the city for a more intelligent, sustainable, inclusive, innovative and efficient future, contributing to the quality of life of citizens and promoting the competitiveness of companies.

The document looks ahead to Lisbon in 2030, and incorporates the concept of a smart and human city, which stimulates innovation and human capital through various areas aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals: Smart Infrastructure, Environment, Mobility, Society, Governance and Economy, based on three strategic axes: People, Organization and City.

This challenge stems from the municipal government program 2021-2025 - in the Participatory City axis - and involves municipal services and companies, parish councils, academics and experts. The aim is to reach a consensus on the concept of the smart city and to define, with everyone's collaboration, the strategy and its concrete objectives.

To diagnose the situation, four discussion groups have already been held with 43 participants from 10 entities, as well as individual interviews with 12 participants from various sectors.

The participatory process will conclude with two workshops, with around 40 participants, on June 25 and July 9. The aim will be to define the structure of the Strategy, which will serve as the municipality's governance model in the area of the Smart City, which is the responsibility of Councillor Joana Almeida and is managed by the Lisbon Urban Management and Intelligence Center.
