Tourism Strategy 2035: Lisbon kicks off a series of conferences

The cycle of conferences "Building the Tourism of the Future", organized by Turismo de Portugal, began on October 3 at MUDE - Museu do Design, in Lisbon. This event is part of the construction of the Tourism Strategy 2035, in collaboration with public and private partners in the national tourism sector.

At the opening session, the deputy mayor of Lisbon, Filipe Anacoreta Correia, stressed the importance of tourism for the economy, creating more jobs and better conditions for the development of social policies. He also highlighted the relationship between Lisbon's identity and its cultural offer, reinforcing the city's role as a hub for innovation, culture and science, which are essential for consolidating tourism's growth and offer.

For Filipe Anacoreta Correia, "we need to invest, above all, in quality rather than quantity. And this is becoming tangible. We can see, for example, in the hotel units that have grown the most. They are the ones with the highest quality standards."

This cycle of conferences - which began in Lisbon and will end in Faro on November 25 - is an invitation to the active participation of the tourism sector and related areas. Everyone can submit suggestions and contributions via the "Participate in Building the Tourism of the Future" platform.
