90 Years PFM
Strategic objectives
Five strategic objectives have been defined for the celebration of the PFM's 90th anniversary.
This year, when Monsanto Forest Park celebrates its 90th anniversary, it is important to reinforce this area as an essential pillar for the city of Lisbon, defining a 10-year strategy that promotes the preservation of biodiversity and environmental sustainability. This will be achieved through innovative initiatives that make Monsanto Forest Park more attractive, modern and avant-garde, offering a greater diversity of options for everyone.
Thus, under the slogan "PFM 90 - 100", five strategic objectives have been defined for the celebration of the PFM's 90th anniversary:
Enhance the Park as a green space of local, regional and national reference, adopting measures that provide better conditions for use, by defining and implementing an investment plan that upgrades and enhances existing equipment and ensures a safer, more sustainable, more inclusive and more accessible Park.
Investing in improving infrastructures and the sustainability of existing buildings, using materials and tools with a low ecological impact and natural solutions.
Valuing Monsanto as the only FSC-certified urban forest park in Europe, preserving and promoting its history and its importance as a climate refuge and for the quality of life in the Lisbon region and the well-being of communities.
Communicate more and better, prioritizing digital communication and investing in New Information Technologies (NIT) as the primary means of interaction with the different publics.
Implementing more assertive communication and information strategies, investing in technological and interactive resources that establish direct, two-way communication channels between the Park and its visitors.
Invest in innovative, inclusive tools in several languages, providing a more accessible, engaging and interactive experience for visitors to Monsanto Forest Park.
Welcoming people with quality, in an inclusive and accessible way, ensuring that the Park's facilities and equipment meet the necessary conditions for different users, with the aim of providing an excellent public service.
Reinforcing information tools, namely information signs, maps, facilities and equipment, without forgetting the definition and dissemination of rules for using the Park and advice on environmental conservation practices.
Bringing the Park closer to the community, strengthening the connection with local residents and regional, national and international audiences, encouraging involvement and establishing partnerships with residents, schools, companies and civil society organizations.
Investing in smooth and sustainable mobility, both when accessing the Park and within it.
Strengthening the public transport network, discouraging the use of private vehicles, both among residents and all those who visit the Park.
Promote a wide range of recreational, environmental and educational activities.
Strengthen volunteering activities, nature programs and experiences, as well as cultural and sporting events that attract visitors.
Involve environmental and other non-governmental organizations based in the Park and focus on promoting actions in partnership, working together to educate for sustainability.
