The line-up includes names such as Oneohtrix Point Never, Branko, Paulo Kalkbrenner, 2maydjs and Bonobo, among others.
The official opening of the festival on March 22 was attended by Lisbon City Councilor Ângelo Pereira, who stressed that this "is not just another event in Lisbon, it's a special event that combines art, technology, digital, creative industries and science."
Sevdaliza was the featured artist on the first day of Sónar, with a captivating electronic performance for an audience of various nationalities.
In addition to the shows, various exhibitions are being held at Lisbon's Estufa Fria over the three days.
Sónar began in 1994 in Barcelona. Since 2002, it has expanded to other cities, such as London, Chicago, São Paulo and Hamburg. Over the last three decades it has held more than 100 festivals in 35 cities in 23 countries. Lisbon has agreed with Sónar to hold 5 editions.
