Bahuto parking lot opens with 90 spaces
The parking lot, inaugurated today by the Mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas, is spread over three levels, two of which are covered. The top floor is uncovered and exclusively for residents' subscriptions.
The 90 parking spaces, now available to residents and visitors, include four spaces for charging electric vehicles, two spaces for people with reduced mobility and two for motorcycles.
The project included a surrounding green area, with the application of eight vertical garden systems, aimed at the urban and environmental integration of the parking lot, which is "modern and, at the same time, combines with the beauty of the city and with our desire to have a better quality city", stressed Carlos Moedas.
The investment in mobility, he said, is being made "with the neighbors and we're doing it in harmony", telling "people that it's not just for cars, it's not just for bicycles, it's for everyone".
New bike-sharing station
Also in Campo de Ourique, in Praça Afonso do Paço, a new GIRA station with 21 docks opened today.
The parish now has three stations, "helping more and more residents and visitors to be within a 10-minute walk of a station", says EMEL - Empresa de Mobilidade e Estacionamento de Lisboa.
For this year, the municipal budget has increased investment by 5 M€ in the expansion of the GIRA network and the opening of new cycle paths, among other priority measures in soft mobility.
