Engineers Hub strengthens its commitment to Engineering and Innovation

The new hub supports the growth of technology companies, promotes collaboration between engineers and contributes to the creation of qualified jobs in an ecosystem that already brings together more than 3,200 professionals and has generated 18,000 job opportunities.

The Engineers Hub is a space dedicated to the community of engineers, entrepreneurs and technology companies, with the aim of transforming technical knowledge into solutions with an economic and social impact.

The new space is part of a network of eight Unicorn Factory spaces: AI Hub - Alvalade; Gaming Hub - Saldanha; Green Hub - Entrecampos; Health Hub - Rossio; Web 3 Hub - Alvalade; Engineer Hub - Saldanha; Early Stage - Rua da Prata; Headquarters - Beato.

In total, the hubs provide more than 3,200 jobs and have contributed to around 18,000 job opportunities in just over three years, reinforcing the growth of technology companies and the creation of qualified employment.

At the inauguration session, Carlos Moedas, Mayor of Lisbon, highlighted the role of engineering in innovation and the creation of opportunities: "We need a city that creates jobs and better jobs, that pays young people better. Innovation is often born from engineering, but it has to be useful to society and generate real opportunities."

For Carlos Moedas, this is also a way of "transforming the city", with a new wave of innovation and talent coming to the city's traditional neighborhoods. The people who come to work here "bring the energy and youth that was missing. And that has an impact on Lisbon's urban fabric. The Unicorn Factory began to have an urban impact from the moment it began to decentralize innovation in Lisbon."
