Full-time school activities in Lisbon to be boosted by 12 M€
The approval, at a meeting of the executive on July 10, allows the funds to be distributed before the start of the school year to Lisbon's Parish Councils, in order to comply with the Delegation of Powers Contracts, and the various entities that carry out Curricular Enrichment Activities, Family Support Activities and the Family Support Component.
"Investing in education is the only safe and rigorous way to prepare for the future," said the mayor, Carlos Moedas. This is "yet another concrete response to the needs of our residents, particularly children and their families", he added.
"Making these activities possible is fundamental, as it is our priority to guarantee the integral development of children and young people, reduce inequality and support families, so that they can work with peace of mind, knowing that their children are being well looked after," said the Councillor for Education, Sofia Athayde.
