Lisb-On celebrates 10 years and reinforces environmental commitment
The festival's organizers are reinforcing their environmental commitment with various initiatives. An impact study on the fauna and flora of the Keil do Amaral Garden is planned, as well as awareness-raising actions on zero waste in food, in collaboration with the Portuguese Association for Environmental Education (ASPEA). There will also be waste clean-up actions in the Monsanto Park forest area and ASPEA educational program activities in a local school.
As far as the festival's merchandising is concerned, the items will be made from plant and fruit fibers, reinforcing the environmental concern.
Lisb-On is a cashless festival, and as such, consumption inside the venue must be done by topping up the wristband. The amount not recovered in the app will be donated to Casa dos Animais de Lisboa and LxCRAS Centro de Recuperação de Animais Silvestres, explains the organization
This year's edition has several new features, including a stream of over an hour of nature sounds recorded in Monsanto, which will be available on the first day. This recording was made with equipment installed on miniatures of the Garden Stage, Lake Stage and the new Secret Stage.
The "greenest festival in Lisbon, the greenest festival in the country, with a major environmental and social commitment," said Environment Councillor Ângelo Pereira, was presented to the city on June 25.
