Lisbon receives 325 applications for Europe's biggest social innovation prize
On October 21, during the Entrepreneurship Awards, the three finalists of the Lisboa Innovation For All competition will be announced, an initiative of Lisbon City Council (CML) and Unicorn Factory Lisboa.
Carlos Moedas, president of CML, highlighted the success of the international applications, which exceeded expectations, with proposals from countries such as the USA, Brazil, Germany, India and the United Arab Emirates. The mayor stressed that "the success of the applications is proof that Lisbon is the city where innovation is at the service of the people, and this is recognized all over the world".
The winners of each category - Quality of Education, Access to Health Care and Integration of Migrants - will be chosen by a jury of six experts. After selection, the finalists will spend six months developing their projects together with CML and Unicorn Factory Lisboa, receiving a cash prize of 120,000 euros to implement their solutions.
The winners of the Entrepreneurship Awards will also be announced, divided into the following categories: Most Promising Startup, Best Impact Startup, Best University Startup , Ecosystem Award, João Vasconcelos Award - Best Pitch and João Vasconcelos Award - Entrepreneur of the Year, reinforcing Lisbon's role in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
