Paços do Concelho hosted Lisboa City Welcome

The meeting brought together entrepreneurs, startups, investors and Web Summit participants, and "strengthens the ties between the entrepreneurial community and the city".

The city, said the Mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas, has "only one rule: everyone who comes to Lisbon is from Lisbon. Therefore, you are Lisboners".

"For so many centuries, this city has been home to all religions. Lisbon has been home to Muslims, Jews and Christians. And they all worked together". That's why, he added, "if there's one place on earth where diversity is a strength, it's Lisbon. And you are part of it".

According to the organization, the 10th edition of the Web Summit saw a record 71,386 participants and more than 1,800 investors from 86 countries, an increase of 74% on last year.
