The second edition of the Tribeca Festival Lisbon has begun
The Teatro Ibérico, with a capacity for 165 people, and the former church of the Beato Convent, with 300 seats available, are hosting for the first time the film sessions of the festival co-produced by SIC, OPTO and Lisbon City Council.
This year's guests include Meg Ryan, Kim Cattrall, Giancarlo Esposito and Daniela Ruah, who are part of the program of talks and special screenings. The program also includes the premieres of Nuremberg (with Russell Crowe and Rami Malek), Dreams (by Michel Franco) and Honeyjoon, a film shot in the Azores and starring José Condessa.
In 2024, Lisbon hosted the first European edition of the festival. This year, with another day of programming, the collaboration with the municipality is consolidated and reinforces Lisbon's role as a city of reference in the creation, production and promotion of cinema and culture.
The Tribeca Festival was founded in New York in 2002 "in response to the attacks on the World Trade Center" on September 11, 2001. The attack directly affected Tribeca, a Manhattan neighborhood close to the site.
