Lisboa without AIDS
With the aim of eliminating the HIV and AIDS epidemic as a public health problem in Lisbon by 2030, achieving the goal of zero discrimination and the 95-95-95 targets, i.e. that:
- 95% of people living with HIV are aware of their infection;
- 95% of people who know they are living with HIV are on antiretroviral treatment;
- 95% of people on HIV treatment have an undetectable viral load.
To achieve these goals, it is necessary to ensure that all people have access to prevention, screening, treatment and other health care, in a comprehensive approach to HIV infection, which also includes tuberculosis, viral hepatitis and other infections, as well as strategies to reduce risks and minimize harm associated with drug use, the promotion of mental health and the management of comorbidities associated with ageing with HIV.
To this end, on May 17, 2018, Lisbon City Council signed a collaboration protocol with key partners to implement the strategy of the "Lisbon, a city without AIDS" initiative.
