Municipality hands over keys to 31 homes and 9 community spaces

Today, 31 keys to houses and nine Non-Housing Spaces (ENH) were handed over in the Noble Hall of the Town Hall, as part of various municipal housing programs and Transfer Protocols, strengthening the social response and community dynamism in different districts of the city.

The allocation of the new homes and the ENH are part of various municipal housing programs located in municipal districts and through Transfer Protocols.

At the session, Carlos Moedas, the mayor of Lisbon, stressed the scope of the municipal housing programs: "we have already handed out more than 3,000 keys and today we have awarded another 40". Carlos Moedas also highlighted the Municipal Subsidy for Affordable Rent, for which applications are open until February 16 and which already supports 1,800 families. All the application conditions can be found here.

The nine ENHs correspond to the winning projects from the 1st My Neighborhood competition, launched in June 2025. As part of the competition, a pool of spaces was set up in seven municipal neighborhoods, located in five parishes: Alcântara, Campo de Ourique, Lumiar, Marvila and Santa Clara.

For each space, based on a survey carried out by CML, in conjunction with the parish councils, GEBALIS, Residents' Associations, and taking into account the specific needs and characteristics of each neighborhood, three priority valences were defined.

The main aim of the initiative is to promote the development of non-profit activities in municipal neighborhoods, in the social, cultural, sporting and recreational areas, as well as others of municipal public interest. In this way, it aims to contribute to local development, community dynamization and strengthening the social inclusion of the inhabitants.
