National startups in the spotlight on the last day of the Web Summit
The best startup of the event is from Lisbon. Granter, founded by Bernardo Seixas, won the "Web Summit Pitch", with an artificial intelligence platform that helps companies identify and obtain public funding and incentives.
Also today, the "most promising startup" of the Road 2 Web Summit program was announced. Led by Andreia Trigo, the Portuguese startup Enhanced Fertility stood out among 115 companies taking part in this Startup Portugal initiative. The company works in the fertility field and has developed a platform that automates patient registration, the diagnosis process and reimbursement, reducing the average treatment time from three years to just 30 days.
This year's Web Summit reached a record number of 71,386 participants from 157 countries.
According to data from the organization, there were 2,725 startups in Lisbon, of which around 40% were founded by women. The indicator of female representation "is in line with the organization's efforts to increase diversity in the global startup ecosystem ".
The summit returns to Lisbon in 2026.
